Taste Africa was founded by Tiemoko D. Diarra, who grew up in Mali surrounded by the aromas, stories, and generosity of family cooking. The inspiration reaches back to his great-grandmother’s Tigadegue-na, a deeply comforting peanut stew. Taste Africa carries that heritage forward through premium West African frozen meals made for modern life.

Food has always been one of the ways I welcome people.
After moving from Mali to the United States, I often brought Gnougou-na and Tigadegue-na to school and workplace gatherings. Friends and coworkers who had never experienced these dishes responded to their warmth and depth of flavor. That encouragement helped shape Taste Africa: a founder-led family business sharing authentic Malian recipes from a USDA-inspected kitchen in Bakersfield, California.

Our frozen meals are inspired by Malian peanut stews passed down through generations. Gnougou-na combines peanut and spinach; Tigadegue-na brings together peanut and okra. Both are served with steamed rice and prepared as satisfying West African comfort food.

Taste Africa makes it easier to enjoy the slow-developed flavors of a traditional stew during a busy day. Frozen-meal orders are carefully packed for temperature-controlled delivery and should be placed in the freezer promptly upon arrival.
